The Fund
The first Shariah-compliant digital asset fund structured under the Swiss L-QIF framework.
The Manjam Shariah Innovation Fund is a Swiss-law Limited Qualified Investor Fund built exclusively for qualified investors seeking governed, Shariah-compliant access to digital assets. This page describes the fund's structure and approach. It is not an offer, recommendation or solicitation.
Our View
Digital assets are moving from the edges of finance toward its foundations. What began as a technological experiment is becoming part of the architecture of how money, value and ownership are created, held and exchanged. Manjam sees this not as a passing market cycle but as a long horizon shift, one that institutional capital will increasingly need a considered way to engage with.
Our conviction is that the way to engage is governed, disciplined and principled rather than speculative. Speed and hype have defined much of this space so far. Structure, oversight and conviction will define its next phase. The fund is built for that next phase: governed exposure to digital assets, held within a Swiss legal framework and a defined Shariah-compliant investment mandate, for investors seeking that exposure without giving up regulatory, governance and Shariah rigour.
Structure
The fund is a contractual investment fund of the L-QIF type under the Swiss Federal Act on Collective Investment Schemes (CISA), domiciled in Switzerland and reserved for qualified investors. The fund operates within a FINMA-licensed Swiss fund-management structure..
The approach is deliberately long-only. The fund uses no leverage, no derivatives, no short-selling and no margin, and is built around a diversified basket of highly liquid, Shariah-compliant digital assets held over a medium-to-long-term horizon. This restraint is intentional: the same discipline that keeps the fund within Shariah principles also keeps it away from the speculative mechanics that define much of the digital asset market.
Shariah Methodology
Shariah compliance is overseen by the fund's Shariah Supervisory Board, Bait Al-Mashura Finance Consultations, with additional oversight from Sharlife and Crypto Halal. Every investment is screened at the instrument level, before acquisition and on an ongoing basis, against a defined methodology covering business activity, financial ratios, revenue sources, tokenomics and protocol design, asset-backing, and governance. Interest-based finance (riba), excessive uncertainty (gharar) and speculation (maysir) are excluded, as are sectors such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling, adult content and non-halal food. Liquidity is held through Shariah-compliant instruments, any non-compliant income is purified to approved charitable causes under the Board's supervision, and Zakat remains each investor's own responsibility. The Board reviews the methodology periodically and may refine it as Islamic finance and digital assets evolve.
Governance & Oversight
The fund is structured for institutional-grade oversight at every layer. It operates under Swiss collective investment law (CISA), with a FINMA-licensed Swiss management company. Fund assets are held in independent custody with a Swiss bank, kept segregated from the management company's own assets, and the fund is subject to independent external audit.
This separation of roles, with management, custody, audit and Shariah supervision each held by a distinct party, is deliberate. No single party controls the fund end to end, and it gives qualified investors the governance standards they expect from a Swiss vehicle, applied to a new asset class. Detailed information on the fund's service providers is available to qualified investors on request.
Investor Eligibility
The fund is open only to qualified and professional investors as defined under the Swiss Federal Financial Services Act (FinSA) and CISA. It is not available to retail investors. Eligibility is confirmed during onboarding, and detailed terms, including minimums, fees and full documentation, are shared with qualified investors on request.
The fund is one of three pillars of the Manjam Capital ecosystem, alongside the institutional client platform and Manjam Capital Academy.
